Silver Violets Perfume Oil

Deep purple Parma violets, white and skin musks, lashings of vanilla. Silver Violets is sweet but refreshing and welcome at any time of the year. Particularly reviving in the heat of summer months. Though violet scents are rather rare anymore, they seem to be an omission and are enjoying a new vogue. A very popular scent. Characteristics: floral, musky, vanilla, feminine, long lasting.

On my skin this is a perfect 50/50 mix of Possets silver base and non-powdery violets. I really can’t pick out any musk or vanilla though. Very soft. I only get about 3 hours of wear time out of this. I wish I could find a way to increase the longevity.

And THIS is the scent that convinced me I love violets. Now, violet is sort of…my flower. They grow wild in my parents’ yard, and I pick them to make violet sugar for my tea and sugar cookies. I never quite have been able to put my finger on why violets are the best floral irl to me, but they are. Finding a violet sugar recipe is the reason I always seek it out as a flavor…and Silver Violets is why I always seek it out as a perfume. This is the only one of the “silver” collection I own, so bear with me, but the Silver seems to be both creamy and acidic in nature, likely the listed musks and vanilla. With that violet on top this makes for a beautiful scent, comes off as “clear” and has a sharpness to it. This isn’t a heavy blend, but it is a loud one. I always imagine it as a glittering river with a gust that blows the nearby pollen-dusted petals across the air.
