"She walks in beauty as does the night..." A thick and perfumy blend with a heavy dose of Frankincense to start off, black musk and fig. No greenery with it but a good layer of an almost burnt sugar and an animalic undercurrent which somehow becomes very light and sweet when breathed out. As mercurial as darkness but still with such great charm that it is hard to say that it's anything but ravishing.

I almost despaired when I put this on because the sweetness of the fig was so high-key and piercing. I was almost getting one of those sweet pine terpenes from it. But it settled down in only a few minutes. Fig, warm fig, glowing fig, figgy fig fig – but not, crucially NOT too sweet. A soft, furry alto fig. Fig like it was somebody’s own body scent – oh that’s the musk. Frankincense is in there. It is singing a glorious backup. I smell like… reverently making out with a first love in an ancient church in the forest in the gloaming of late autumn? Ugh, I cannot keep my wrist away from my nose! It is a close to the body scent and fades fast into a lovely but vague wisp of itself, but I adore this.
